This large-scale piece is built on a physical and conceptual layering, where the canvas becomes a battleground between knowledge and blindness. At the very core of the artwork lies Eumancy. These are the first, foundational layers of the canvas—a symbol of the primal truth that is anchored deep within our perception. However, I covered it entirely with a final, dense layer. This is the layer of Ignorance—the very fog, illusions, and blind spots that we force our way through every single day in real life. Ignorance is static; it attempts to seal the canvas and conceal what lies beneath. Yet, the true essence of this work is found in action. The surface of the painting underwent a harsh, almost surgical intervention. This is the physical Search for Truth. Using my tools, I literally cut away the top layer of ignorance, carving windows into the depth. This process of destruction is actually an act of creation: every cut, every scrape is made for one single purpose—to expose the hidden Eumancy underneath. As a result, the canvas remains frozen in a liminal state. The truth here is not entirely unveiled, but it actively breaks through the ignorance. Two meters of texture, scars, and concealed light. As an architect, it is vital for me that art does not merely decorate a wall, but shifts the very tectonics of meaning within a space. Textured layered canvas art Eumancy
